As an exploration in color theory, students were instructed to illustrate a famous person in an unusual setting. Using color alone as our indicators, we were challenged to evoke the subject's physical location. I imagined Nina Simone in a gemstone mine, faceting her features with reflections of ruby, amethyst and citrine. * I'm excited to say, this piece was recently licensed for use on set for an independent film, produced by Kevin Spacey. It is currently in pre-production, so the release date hasn't been announced yet, but I will update this post when I know more!
